by G.V.R. Subba Rao · The HinduAlleging that the NDA government is leaving no stone unturned to water down the cases against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has demanded that the trial of these cases should be done outside Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing the media on Tuesday, YSRCP leader Kakani Govardhan Reddy said be it the multi-crore scams related to skill development, fibrenet, inner ring road alignment, assigned lands in the capital region or Margadarsi, the NDA government is ‘pulling out all the stops to tamper with the evidence and weaken the cases.
“Mr. Naidu has been violating the bail conditions by influencing witnesses and tampering with the records by placing his faithful persons in key positions. He is harassing those who have filed the cases after gathering proper witnesses, documents and information showing the large-scale corruption. In such a situation, justice can be done only if the trial is held outside the State,” The former Minister alleged.
He alleged that the government had been vindictive to those officials involved in the investigation of the cases against Mr. Naidu, adding that IPS officers P.S.R. Anjaneyulu, and Chief Sunil Kumar were suspended.
“A lawyer from Delhi has been engaged to advise Mr. Naidu how to weaken the cases. The court has sought supporting documents in these cases, which is being delayed deliberately and the case filed in the Supreme Court to cancel Mr. Naidu bail is being prolonged on one pretext or the other,” Mr. Govardhan Reddy said.
