Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren was hospitalised following the sugar level complication. He was admitted to Tata Main Hospital (TMH) located in Bistupur in Jamshedpur at around 9 p.m. on October 5.

As per the health bulletin, his health deteriorated due to complications in the sugar level and will recover soon.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader famously known as Jharkhand Tiger, had earlier quit JMM and joined BJP in August. Soon after joining the party, the 67-year-old leader has been continuously touring Jharkhand and holding rallies in favour of the party ahead of the assembly election in Jharkhand.

He is being treated in room number 57 of TMH hospital where his supporters are present outside the hospital praying for his speedy recovery.

Mr. Soren also posted a message on the social media platform ‘X’ on October 6 saying, “Due to health-related problems, I will be attending the “Manjhi Pargana Mahasammelan” organised at Veer Bhumi Bhognadih today through video conferencing. According to the doctors, there is nothing to worry about. I will soon recover completely and come back among you all.”

The doctor said that he will probably be discharged from the hospital on Monday. Meanwhile, the local BJP leaders visited the hospital to inquire about his health.

Dharmendra Goswami, personal secretary of Mr.Soren, said that he was admitted to TMH after his health deteriorated on Saturday evening.

“He fell ill due to low sugar level and fever, there is no need to worry at the moment, his health is improving,”Mr. Goswami said while speaking to the media.

Following the arrest of Hemant Soren by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on 31 January 2024 in an alleged money laundering case, Mr. Champai was made the Chief Minister. He served the post from February 2 to July 3, 2024. Soon after coming out of jail, Hemant Soren removed him and became the CM.

Before joining the BJP, Champai Soren had alleged that he was humiliated and insulted by JMM and removed from the post of CM in an inappropriate manner.
