The NTR Commissionerate Police have launched ‘Cloud patrols for safer communities’ initiative through drone surveillance.

Vijayawada Parliament Member Kesineni Sivanath handed over drones for police stations under the Commissionerate to Police Commissioner S.V. Rajashekar Babu on Sunday, December 15.

Speaking on the occasion, the MP said that drones would be used to check ganja peddling and consumption, eve-teasing, liquor consumption at open places, criminal movement, and traffic congestion.

“We have trained Mahala police to operate drones, which will increase surveillance in every corner of the NTR district,” the Police Commissioner said.

“Police have mapped vulnerable areas and abandoned places to check ganja consumption, prostitution, movement of rowdies, criminals and consumption of liquor on roads,” Mr. Rajashekar Babu said.

The Police Commissioner said instructions have been given to the Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), and Station House Officers (SHOs) to use drones to enhance invisible policing.

MLAs Gadde Rammohan Rao, Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, Vasantha Krishna Prasad and police officers participated in the programme.
