Woman arrested for stealing valuables in crowded Bengaluru buses

According to the Electronics City police, the woman is a habitual offender involved in cases since 2019.

The Electronics City police have arrested a woman who used to steal valuables from people in crowded buses after diverting their attention. The accused, according to the police, is a habitual offenders involved in cases since 2019. She hails from Kuppam in Andhra Pradesh and used to operate with her associate who is presently on the run.

With her arrest, the police have detected nine such cases reported in the southeast divsion and recovered 153 grams of gold, 21 grams of silver articles, ₹50,000 cash, with a total worth of ₹11.5 lakh, from her.

Based on a complaint filed on November 15, the Electronics City police had analysed the CCTV footage and zeroed in on the accused.
