Man dies after car flips and crashes into building

A young man in his 20s has tragically died in hospital after the car he was a passenger in was involved in a collision with another vehicle, before flipping and crashing into a building.

The incident occurred on Broken Stone Road, Darwen, at the crossroads with Bog Height Road, Heys Lane and Tockholes Road, where emergency services rushed to the scene following reports of the crash. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a Seat Ibiza had collided with a Toyota Prius.

After the initial impact, the Seat Ibiza then hit a building and overturned. The passenger of the Seat Ibiza, a man in his 20s, sustained serious injuries and was critically ill in hospital after the accident on Friday, September 20, reports Lancs Live.

Lancashire Constabulary provided a sombre update on the evening of October 3, confirming the young man's death. The driver of the Seat Ibiza also suffered serious injuries and is currently receiving medical care, while both occupants of the Toyota Prius experienced minor injuries.

Sgt Laura Kendall from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "This was a collision which has very sadly resulted in a man losing his life. First and foremost my thoughts are very much with his family at this incredibly distressing time. They are being supported by specialist officers.
