Buckingham Palace staff member arrested following Christmas party
by Stephen Topping · Manchester Evening NewsAn investigation is expected to take place after a member of Buckingham Palace staff was arrested following a Christmas party which 'spiralled out of control'. A 24-year-old woman was reportedly arrested at a bar in Victoria, London, on Tuesday (December 10).
According to the Sun, up to 50 servants had attended the party at All Bar One on Victoria Street, London, around half a mile from Buckingham Palace. It was alleged that the staffer arrested had thrown glasses and tried to assault a member of bar staff, believed to be a manager.
The incident came hours after Palace staff had enjoyed an 'early evening reception' at Buckingham Palace, which the staff member attended. Now, Buckingham Palace is expected to make its own investigation into what happened.

A Palace spokesperson told the BBC: "We are aware of an incident outside the workplace involving a number of household staff who had previously attended an early evening reception at the Palace. While this was an informal social gathering, not an official Palace Christmas party, the facts will be fully investigated, with a robust disciplinary process followed in relation to individual staff and appropriate action taken.”
The Met said the woman was arrested on suspicion of common assault, criminal damage and being drunk and disorderly. She was later released after being given a penalty notice.
