Three rushed to hospital after Piccadilly Gardens triple stabbing

Two teenagers and one man have been rushed to hospital following a horror triple stabbing in Manchester city centre on Saturday night.

Emergency services raced to Piccadilly Gardens at around 11:45pm on November 23 following reports of a disturbance. Two teenagers, aged 17 and 18, were rushed to hospital after officers found them 'seriously injured' with stab wounds.

Later, a 20-year-old man presented at hospital with a stab wound police believe to be sustained during the same incident. All three remain in hospital where they are being treated for serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

Officers have now released an appeal for information, adding there will be an increased police presence in the area as officers carry out enquiries.

In a statement, the force said: "We are appealing for information after two teenage boys and one man were stabbed in Manchester city centre late last night (23/11/ 2024).

"At around 11:45pm officers were called to a disturbance in Piccadilly Gardens and found two teenagers – aged 17 and 18 – seriously injured with stabbed wounds. Paramedics rushed them to hospital where they are currently receiving treatment for their injuries.

"Police were later notified that a man (aged 20) presented at hospital with a stab wound to the chest believed to have been sustained during this same incident. None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening."

A large police scene was in place

Detective Chief Inspector Michelle Buchanan within GMP’s city centre division, said: “We are investigating an incident that occurred in Manchester city centre last night, which led to three people in hospital with serious injuries.

“Officers are reviewing CCTV footage and forensic enquiries are being carried out. We are making good process in this early stage and are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Piccadilly Gardens and may have witnessed an altercation involving a group of males yesterday just after 11:00pm to please come forward and speak with us.

“I also urge people who were in the area to check their mobile phones, or CCTV to see if they may have captured any footage that could be useful to our investigation, no matter how small, as any information may help us.
