Police descend on street after man attacked with investigation underway

An investigation is underway after a man was reportedly attacked on a street in Rochdale.

The incident was reported to officers late on Friday night (October 11). A man is believed to have been attacked on Hillcrest Road in the Castleton area.

A cordon was put in place on the street as officers descended on the area. The street remained taped off overnight on Friday and into Saturday morning.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said a probe into the incident is now underway. It is in the 'early stage' with no arrests made yet.

Any witnesses, or anyone with information, should come forward to officers. In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "We are investigating a reported assault of a man on Hillcrest Road, Rochdale at 11.10pm on Friday 11 October 2024.

"The investigation is at an early stage and enquiries are ongoing to determine the full circumstances of what happened. No arrests have been made as yet.
