by · Manchester Evening News

A man tried to launch bags full of drugs from a window when police came knocking on his door.

Officers attended the property in the Fallowfield on Wednesday (November 27) to carry out an 'arrest attempt'. When they arrived, they saw a man wearing a red top 'throwing multiple bags from a first-floor window'.

Police made their way into the house and found the same man in a first-floor bedroom. Inside the bags, they found a 'large amount of cannabis'.

They also found more of the class B drug inside the house, as well as a set of scales, a cannister containing pepper spray and some cash. The drugs and items seized were believed to be worth around £35,000, Greater Manchester Police said in an update shared via the Bee in the Loop service.

A 21-year-old man was arrested. He has since been released with bail conditions.

"A really good investigation by officers and a large quantity of controlled substances taken off the streets", a GMP spokesperson said. Anyone with concerns over drug-dealing in their area should get in touch with the force.

GMP can be contacted on 101 or via the Live Chat function. Alternatively, report anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
