Man rushed to hospital with serious injuries after 'attempt to stop car rolling down hill'
by Kit Roberts · Manchester Evening NewsA 40-year-old man has been rushed to hospital following a traffic collision in Trafford on Monday afternoon. The man had been waiting in the vehicle for his colleague to return when it began to roll down a slight hill it was parked on.
After the vehicle started moving the man desperately tried to get it to stop as it rolled don Shay Lane, which was on a slight incline. Unfortunately he was not able to stop it in time to prevent a collision.
Officers from Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now looking into the incident. They have issued an appeal for anyone who has information about the collision to come forward.

This includes anyone who could have footage such as mobile phone or dashcam video which was taken in the 'moments leading up to the collision'.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police told the Manchester Evening News: "On Monday 18 November at around 5.30pm, officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision after a man tried to stop his vehicle from rolling down a road in Trafford. Emergency services attended the scene, and a 40-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
"The victim was sat in the front nearside passenger seat of his vehicle which was initially parked up and stationary on Shay Lane on a slight incline. Initial enquiries suggest while he waited for his work colleague to return to the vehicle, the vehicle began to roll down Shay Lane and there has been an attempt to prevent this."
