Tragedy as body found in search for missing man

A body has been found in the search for missing man Mark Edwards.

The 54-year-old, from Warrington, was last seen at around 9am on Tuesday in the Fearnhead Lane area of the town. Police launched a public appeal for help , saying it was believed he may have travelled to North Wales.

Mr Edwards was said to have links to links to Denbigh in Denbighshire. Earlier today a further appeal was issued today after cameras picked up Mr Edwards' car being driven in the Denbighshire area.

But sadly, this evening, Cheshire Police said a body had been found by officers investigating the disappearance.

In a statement the force said said: "Formal identification is yet to take place but is believed to be that of Mark Edwards. His next of kin have been informed and specially trained officers are supporting them whilst enquiries continue."
