Car smashes into house in Stockport leaving massive hole
by Kit Roberts · Manchester Evening NewsA car crash in the early hours of the morning has left a gaping hole in the side of an end terrace house. Images show a black hatchback car embedded into the side of the corner house.
Tape can be seen placed around the car, along with signs advising motorists that the road has been closed on the junction of Old Chapel Street and St Matthew's Road in Edgeley. The front of the car has some damage to the engine block.
However, in the collision between the car and the building, it's the building which appears to have come off worse. Photos from the scene show a large hole which has been smashed into the side of the property.

A section of bricks has been pushed into the property at the point of impact. There is also a large crack visible in a circle around the hole, with bricks appearing to have partially caved inwards.
It is not clear at the moment whether there has been any wider structural damage to the property. The Manchester Evening News understands that the property is now expecting a visit from structural engineers to assess the extent of the damage and the safety of the structure.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police told the M.E.N. that the incident involved a single vehicle collision.
They added that there have not been any serious injuries reporter or arrests made in connection with the incident.
The Manchester Evening News has reached out to the North West Ambulance Service for comment.
