Murder arrest after 'unexplained' death of man at block of flats in Liverpool

Emergency crews descended on the scene on Spellow Lane in the Walton area at around 6.10pm last night (Tuesday, November 26). Police said officers were initially called 'following reports of a concern for safety'.
Crews found a 65-year-old man and carried out CPR, but sadly he died on the scene. Last night, a 52-year-old man from Toxteth was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder.

He has been taken into custody to be quizzed by detectives. An investigation is now underway as Merseyside Police probe the 'unexplained death'.
Last night, forensic officers arrived at the scene on Spellow Lane which is a short distance away from Goodison Park, the Liverpool Echo reports. Police and crime scene investigators could be seen coming and going from a block of flats on the road.
A cordon was put in place as door-to-door inquiries were carried out. Detectives will also be checking CCTV footage from the local area.
