Burglars swipe jewellery worth £4,000 from student accommodation in city centre

Burglars struck to swipe jewellery worth an estimated £4,000 from student accommodation in Manchester city centre, police have revealed.

Greater Manchester Police shared images of the distinctive pieces as they issued an appeal for anyone with information to come forward.

A necklace, earrings and a bracelet with charms attached to it were pictured.

No exact location for the burglary has been revealed.

GMP said two men, dressed all in dark clothing, accessed a communal lobby area and were also caught on CCTV camera footage searching bins on a ground floor of the building.

On Facebook, GMP in the city centre said: "Police appeal for witnesses after a burglary of jewellery estimated to be worth £3,000 to £4,000 at student accommodation in Manchester city centre on 31 August 2024

"It’s believed two men dressed in dark clothing entered the student accommodation into the communal lobby area.

"They were then seen on CCTV searching the bins on the ground floor.
