A 'rude' dad was caught on camera trying to park his car on a stranger's driveway during the school run.

The audacious act was recorded by Dion Joy's doorbell camera outside her Tameside, Greater Manchester, home. Initially, she spotted a red Toyota on the street and assumed it was turning around.

However, she was shocked when the driver pulled up onto her driveway, unbuckled his seatbelt and stepped out of his car. Dion, 33, watched in disbelief from her window as he pointed towards the primary school three doors down.

The footage then shows Dion calmly asking him to leave her property. Despite his attempts to persuade the mum-of-three to let him stay by mentioning his daughter, his pleas fell on deaf ears.

Dion explained that her boyfriend needed the space to park. She firmly asked him again to leave, telling him 'that's so rude', reports the Manchester Evening News.

Eventually, he got back into his car, reversed off the driveway and drove further down the street where there were free spaces. Dion described the driver as a "cheeky little get" and admitted she was "a bit angry" after the incident, which occurred around 3.18pm.

The beauty salon owner explained that she had to start her own school run 10 minutes later and the man would have blocked her car from leaving the two-car driveway. She said that although the incident took place at her home, which prevented her from being more confrontational, she stressed that her plot 'isn't a car park, it's a driveway'.

Dion shared her doorbell camera footage on TikTok last Thursday, which has since racked up 245,000 views. Netizens were left baffled as they wondered "what was he thinking?" with some critics chiming in that Dion was 'too polite'.

Recounting the incident, Dion revealed: "It was the sound of his car that made me stand up and look because it sounded like it was going to fall apart. I thought he was turning around but then he got out of the car and I thought 'hell no, you cheeky little get'."

"I was a bit angry but I didn't want to kick off with somebody outside my house who's going to be there all the time. I wanted to be careful."

"He tried to explain that he was just going to get his daughter as if it was okay. That was surprising."

"I need to go out on the school run myself so It's a good job I caught him when I did because he would have blocked me in. I'm glad people agreed with what I said and told me I handled it really well. Some people said I could have left him there for a minute but it's not a car park, it's a driveway."

Dion explained that due to the small school car park, she and her neighbours often encounter parking dilemmas caused by parents during pick-up times. The salon-owner mum-of-three, with children aged 10, seven, and two, noted the cheeky driver hasn't attempted to use her driveway again.

She titled the viral video "he pulled onto my drive to leave his car so he could do the school run," and it now boasts over 1,000 comments. One person pointed out: "The worst part is if you hadn't been at the window to say something he'd have just left it there thinking that's acceptable."

Another chimed in, saying: "I get moody if someone parks outside my house on the school run and that's not even my land." Another voice piped up with: "You were too polite," to which Dion responded: "I agree I was quite tame."

Lastly, someone questioned the audacity of the act, asking: "What was he thinking? "
