An OnlyFans "model" who blackmailed a married man who subscribed to her account has narrowly escaped a prison sentence.

Bethan Guy, 29, demanded hundreds of pounds from a subscriber to her adult content, threatening to expose him to his wife if he didn't cough up the cash. The victim initially paid out £450 when she made her demands, but when she asked for more, he alerted the police.

The ordeal left him in significant distress, fearing he would lose his family. An anonymity order was put in place in court to protect the victim's identity. In a statement read to the court, Guy's victim said he felt "trapped and helpless" and was left without money to pay his rent and bills.

He said: "I felt trapped and helpless. I didn't have enough money to pay my rent and bills, which was a huge strain for me. I felt I had no choice but to pay the money, as she had made the threats very clear and I was afraid of the devastating affect it would have on my life if I didn’t pay."

Guy, from Swindon, Wiltshire, was arrested and later charged with blackmail. She admitted to the crime in December 2023, an offence that can carry a prison sentence of up to 14 years. Judge Jason Taylor at Swindon Crown Court deferred Guy's sentencing until August, under the conditions that she does not commit further offences and maintains her employment or seeks new employment if she loses her current job.

Guy was ordered to pay her victim in compensation and complete community service

Despite awaiting sentencing, Guy continued to promote her OnlyFans profile featuring nude photos and explicit videos on social media. Due to court delays, she wasn't sentenced until last week, on 15 October, when Judge Taylor handed down a two-year prison sentence, suspended for two years.

Guy was handed 225 hours of community service, 12 mental health treatment sessions, and 15 rehabilitation days with the probation service. She was also ordered to pay the victim £450 in compensation, to be paid in monthly instalments of £50. In a public Instagram post in July, prior to the original sentencing date, Guy referred to her crime as "a mistake and stupidity", stating: "If I could go back to the moment it happened I would because it honestly was just a mistake but this small mistake has now cost me so much pain and dread I can't even explain."

"If I could give anyone advice it'll be don't think you're untouchable because something will catch up one day." DC Emma Rossiter of Wiltshire Police said in a victim statement that the service is seeing "increasing numbers of people" being blackmailed via social media. She said: "Guy met her victim through SnapChat where she was selling adult photos of herself.

"She then began threatening to tell his partner if he did not hand over money. Sadly we are seeing increasing numbers of people being blackmailed through social media sites. If you’ve been a victim we’d like you to remember, whatever has happened is not your fault, even though you might have been told it is. We understand that it might be difficult to report this type of crime to us but we are here to listen and help where we can."
