A woman was found shot to death in a New Jersey park over the weekend, authorities say, and the case remains under investigation with no arrests made as of yet

Police are investigating the death of a young woman found shot dead in a Cumberland County park on Saturday, November 9.

The body of 36 year old Teaoshia Still was discovered around 5am by a jogger who swiftly alerted the police. New Jersey authorities have launched an investigation to get to the bottom of what happened.

Emergency personnel declared her dead at the scene, having been shot multiple times in the head, according to police reports. No suspects have been identified and no arrests made so far. Teaoshia's loved ones are in mourning after the shocking news over the weekend but as the investigation into Still’s death continues, her family remains hopeful that justice will be served. Doretha Still described her daughter as a loving and free-spirited person who was the “life of the party.”

“Good heart. She would help anyone. I’m broken. I have my moments. I just want justice for my child. She was a good-hearted person,” she told NBC10.

This incident follows closely after a mother of five was shot dead in late October in Millville. Bonnie Hitchens, 41, was found on October 26 in the passenger seat of a car parked near a convenience store, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, as per the Cumberland County prosecutor. She was later pronounced dead at Inspira Medical Center, while a 31 year old man also reportedly shot during the incident survived.

Two men have been issued with murder charges following another recent fatal incident that has left officials scrambling to understand the motive behind the heinous act. Eric Bundy-Johnson and Francessca Delvalle, both 34, found themselves in handcuffs on October 28, the prosecutor's office announced.

The disturbing chain of events is detailed in a probable cause affidavit that recounts how Delvalle’s car approached the victim's before a heated exchange led to Bundy-Johnson exiting the vehicle and allegedly opening fire.

The victim's brother, James Hitchens, mourning the loss, recounted to CBS News, "Her smile, her laugh. Sometimes I think I hear her laugh out here, I just want everybody to know she was loved," expressing the family’s solidarity through this tough period focusing now on Bonnie's five children. .

"My mom didn't deserve this," her daughter lamented to ABC6 Action News. “She wasn't a bad person. She wasn't a bad person at all. ”

In a poignant homage, Bridgeton, New Jersey community members honoured Bonnie by releasing silver and blue balloons at a vigil on the Monday following the tragic event. Meanwhile, the second victim, identified only as Bonnie's long-time boyfriend, remains unnamed.
