by Ashley Cowburn · The MirrorKeir Starmer has revealed his go-to dish is a pasta bake as he spoke about plans for his first Christmas in No10.
Sitting down on ITV This Morning's sofa, the PM said he finds spending time in the kitchen relaxing - but often involves negotiations with his two kids.
He said: "I cook and I really enjoy cooking, I find it relaxing - not always on Christmas Day relaxing - but most of the time I really love cooking and do it as much as I can."
Asked what his signature dish was, he replied: "It's the one the kids make me do over and over again. It's a pasta bake where you do layers of handmade sauce then different cheeses... which I wouldn't say is necessarily the best.
"I like to cook on a Saturday so I get the recipe book out. Then the kids get involved, we negotiate, and we end up with a pasta bake very, very often because that is what they will always eat.
He added: "My tandoori salmon is coming along very, very nicely."
The PM also said his new kitten Prince has not yet met Downing Street's famous mouse catcher Larry, as he spoke about his family's Christmas plans.
Asked for an update on the Starmer family Siberian kitten, Mr Starmer told ITV's This Morning: "Prince is the name of the kitten. So, Prince and Larry haven't met yet. I am worried that Larry will come off better - the kitten is tiny."
The PM said he also went to escape room for his daughter's birthday on Sunday, and told the programme: "Now today we can start talking about Christmas, because yesterday was my daughter's birthday."
Pressed on his choice of Christmas film, the PM said he was likely to be at the back of the queue when it came to choosing, but added: "Love Actually would be quite interesting this year actually."
