Wild transformation of 'real-life Ken doll' as he admits 'sextortion' blackmail offence
Jimmy Featherstone, a self-confessed cosmetic surgery and tanning addict, could face time behind bars again after admitting to a serious 'sextortion' blackmail offence
by Nia Dalton · The MirrorJimmy Featherstone, dubbed the 'human Ken doll', could face jail after admitting to 'sextortion'.
The self-confessed cosmetic surgery and tanning addict has made several TV appearances over the years, showing off his chiselled face, tanned skin and latest procedures. But now, the 25-year-old has been warned that he could face a prison sentence for a serious offence.
Featherson appeared before Hull Crown Court and pleaded guilty to blackmailing a man - whose identity is protected - by making an unwarranted demand for money with menaces between August 16 and 19. In a former statement, police described the offence as involving 'sextortion'.
Sextortion is the practice of extorting money or sexual favours from a person by threatening to share evidence about their sexual activity. Neil Coxon, prosecuting, said the blackmail had affected the man and his partner. Featherstone, represented by Rachel Scott, was given conditional bail for a pre-sentence report to be prepared by the probation service.
Recorder Ian Mullarkey told him: "You have pleaded guilty to what is a serious case." The TV star was told that failing to attend court or committing any further offences would also be an offence. His bail was on the condition that he lived at his home address and did not contact the blackmail victim directly, indirectly or through social media.
Jimmy rose to fame for undergoing cosmetic procedures to turn him into the real-life version of Barbie's famous counterpart. To date, he has spent approximately £10,000 a year on surgery to look like the fictional character. He has said that he loves the "plastic fantastic" look and will keep getting more work done until he is finally satisfied.
As well as making an appearance on ITV's This Morning, where he discussed his addiction to fake tanning, including his use of tanning injections, Jimmy also starred in Hooked on the Look, a show about people who have extreme cosmetic surgery. He has previously had lip and cheek fillers, veneers and a nose job.
Last year, Jimmy spoke out about having work on his face. He said: "I'm still 100 percent all in. I'll get anything done. If there's anything that comes out new, I'm willing to try it in that kind of industry, with plastics. Recently I've had the butterfly lips done and a fox brow lip, where my eyebrows have been cut open and lifted, and then my jaw done - they were the latest ones."
At the end of 2021, Featherstone spent a single month behind bars after he failed to comply with the requirements of a community order relating to previous offences, including harassment. He claims he missed a court meeting to appear on This Morning, in the segment named: "The man who spends £1K a month on tanning despite skin cancer risks".
Speaking about his experience in jail, Featherstone branded his time "not that bad" and said he even made friends while there. In 2022, he said: "You hear all these rumours about prison. The rumours aren't true. Everyone in there looks out for each other and I had nothing but kindness from everyone in there.
"Obviously, that isn't to say that prison is a nice place because it's not - obviously prisons are not made to be nice." In a post on his Instagram, Jimmy revealed that he was able to buy fake tan while in prison and make calls to his friends and family. He confessed he "made a silly mistake", but said the rehabilitation process didn't change him.
Just a few weeks after returning home, he visited Manchester to get a surgical eyebrow lift. He told Hull Live: "That's one of many surgeries ticket off the list. I'm in the healing process, it was painful but I'm now recovered and pleased with the outcome. It's clear I'm no stranger to undergoing any treatment."
