12-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and indecent exposure in small town

The boy has been bailed with conditions to only leave his house if he is with an appropriate adult and to attend school

A young boy aged just 12 has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and indecent exposure. The boy, who has not been named for legal reasons, was picked up by police in a small town in Worcestershire following several reports he was indecently exposing himself.

On Sunday, December 15 in Malvern, Worcestershire, the 12-year-old boy was arrested by West Mercia Police on suspicion of sexual assault on a female over the age of 13 and indecent exposure. The boy has been bailed with conditions to only leave his home address if he is with an appropriate adult and to attend school. An appropriate adult must also take and collect him from school.

Sergeant Geraint Perkins of Malvern Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “We hope yesterday’s arrest and the bail conditions offer some reassurance to the community.

“Patrols will continue in the area and anyone who has any concerns is encouraged to approach officers.”
