Family of teen shot dead on industrial estate posting 10,000 leaflets to find his killer

Nobody has been charged in connection with 19-year-old Ellis Cox's death and his family said they 'will not rest' until those responsible are brought to justice

The family of a teenager shot dead on an industrial estate are posting leaflets through 10,000 doors in a bid to find his killer.

Ellis Cox, 19, was found with gunshot wounds at about just after 10pm on June 23 this year in the Liver Industrial Estate, in Aintree, Liverpool after a day out with friends in Southport. Moments before he died he had called his mother, Carolyn Cox, to say he was five minutes from home and asking her to "warm his tea".

Merseyside Police said four arrests had been made and enquiries were ongoing, but as yet no-one had been charged in connection with his death. In a statement, Mr Cox's family said: “Ellis was smart, funny and so kind. He had such a good heart and a beautiful soul.

"We will not rest until those responsible for taking him from us are caught.” In a message directly to his killer, they said: "We didn’t get to hold his hand, talk to him and tell him how much we loved him because you took that away from us. "You chose to carry a gun. You chose to pull that trigger. Why?”
