Man arrested after fatal road collision in Co Wexford

A man in his 20s has been arrested following a fatal road traffic collision which involved a lorry and two cars in Co Wexford.

A man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision occurred between Kyle Cross and Oylegate shortly before 5pm this afternoon.

In a statement, gardaí said two other individuals received treatment at the scene and that their condition is described as "non-life-threatening".

The man who was arrested is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a garda station in Wexford.

The road will remain closed overnight with local diversions in place pending a technical examination.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing and they are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
