Watch: Formerly homeless woman urges people to vote
by Sinéad Brennan, https://www.facebook.com/rtenews/ · RTE.ieA young Co Waterford woman who experienced homelessness is urging people to register to vote ahead of the general election.
25-year-old Keile Sheridan O'Danza was in foster care as a child and when she left care, she said she had nowhere to go. She is now renting an apartment and has registered to vote for the first time.
Keile works with Focus Ireland in their Lived Experience Ambassador Programme and said it is very important that homeless people have their voices heard at the ballot box to help drive political change to end the housing and homeless crisis
The charity has launched a voting registration drive to encourage people to register to vote now, before an election is officially called.
