Campaigning is continuing in the General Election with parties highlighting policies on issues ranging from rural affairs to health and social care.

Sinn Féin will outline a "pledge for young people", setting out a six-point plan to allow them build a life at home in Ireland.

Party leader Mary Lou McDonald will also visit Bray, where she will meet with local businesses and the mental health service, Jigsaw.

This evening she will attend the turning on of the Christmas tree lights in Sheriff Street and will address the youth event, "Rally for Change" in Dublin city centre.

Fine Gael will launch its blueprint for rural Ireland, which will include a €2bn Rural Regeneration Fund to support rural towns and villages.

Other measures include the delivery of key regional roads, better broadband, more gardaí and investment in rural water services.

Meanwhile, Fianna Fáil will unveil a plan to make Dublin a safe, welcoming, and liveable city for all.

It said this will be achieved by building more homes, boosting garda presence and creating a dedicated transport police unit.

Party leader Micheál Martin is canvassing in the Carlow/Kilkenny constituency where he will visit the towns of Callan, Kilkenny and Carlow.

Labour will guarantee an appropriate school place for every child with additional needs if elected to government.

The Social Democrats will publish its health and social care strategy.

While the Greens will reveal details of a plan establish an office of punctuality to improve public transport services.
