Police officers form guard of honour for sergeant who died
by Robert Dalling · Wales OnlinePolice officers formed a guard of honour to pay their respects to a sergeant known for his "wicked sense of humour, leadership, and love for his family." Sergeant James Osborne had served 25 years for South Wales Police.
Known as Ozzy he was described as "an exemplary officer" dedicated to public service who during his years of service "helped the most vulnerable" throughout the communities he served. A statement from South Wales Police read: "We paid our respects to our friend and colleague Sergeant James Osborne.
"James, known as Ozzy, who is remembered for his wicked sense of humour, his supportive leadership, his love for his family and the communities that he served, and being an avid Swans fan. Delivering the eulogy chief constable Jeremy Vaughan said: “He gave 25 years to the communities of south Wales and was an exemplary officer dedicated to public service. Throughout that service he undoubtedly saved countless lives, helped the most vulnerable in our communities, and brought many perpetrators to justice. James was highly regarded by his colleagues and his peers. He has left a legacy of love and care for his community and his family. That service is now done. Stand down James.
