Police issue update after death of four-month-old baby boy

A baby boy was pronounced dead after emergency services were called to a Pembrokeshire house

Police say they are continuing to investigate the circumstances around the death of a four-month-old baby in Clynderwen, Pembrokeshire. The baby boy was pronounced dead after emergency services were called to an address in the village on Friday afternoon.

Officers attended a call from the Wales Ambulance Service Trust concerning the welfare of a baby at around 1.45pm on Friday, October 18. A spokesperson for Dyfed Powys Police said: "Sadly, the infant died at the scene."

On Sunday, a police statement said that the baby's death is being treated as "unexplained".

It added that people living in the Clynderwen area will see an increased police presence over the coming days.

Two people – a woman aged 19 and a man aged 23 – were arrested on suspicion of child neglect, and have now been released on bail pending further enquiries.
