Man, 22, accused of more than 30 crimes against women
by Conor Gogarty · Wales OnlineA 22-year-old man is accused of rape, intentional strangulation and sexual assault. Samuel Rust, from the Vale of Glamorgan, appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday facing a total of more than 30 charges.
A Gloucestershire police spokesperson said there are three victims of the alleged offences and all are women. Rust, previously of Boverton, near Llantwit Major, was charged with offences including rape, intentional strangulation and sexual assault in May and was remanded in custody. The Crown Prosecution Service has since authorised seven further charges — rape, two counts of sexual assault, two counts of intentional strangulation, assault by penetration and assault causing actual bodily harm.
The offences are alleged to have happened in Monmouthshire, Pembrokeshire, and Gloucestershire. According to the police force, the total number of charges is "more than 30". During Wednesday's court hearing the new charges were joined with the older ones and the case was adjourned to November 14 at Gloucester Crown Court.
