Greater Manchester Police are on the lookout for a man linked to a 'targeted shooting' in Oldham. The incident, which officers responded to following reports of gunfire near Raleigh Close, occurred at about 9.30pm on Friday (October 25).

The detectives working on the case believe it was a targeted act, suggesting there is no ongoing threat to the general public. In their efforts to locate the individual responsible, Greater Manchester Police issued an appeal this Sunday morning.

Identified as Lee James Platt by GMP, the 38 year old from Oldham is believed to have connections with Newton Heath and Rochdale.

The public has been advised not to approach Platt but to contact authorities immediately on sighting him. Despite the serious nature of the incident last Friday, GMP confirmed that there were no injuries reported.

At the scene, police discovered ammunition casings. The force is urging anyone who spots Platt to report it without delay, reports the Manchester Evening News.
