by · The Fresno Bee

A man was shot and killed early Thanksgiving and another was injured in Fresno.

Officers with the Fresno Police Department responded to the area of Pleasant Street and Fedora Avenue for multiple gunshots heard.

Officers arrived and located two men — a 22-year-old and a 28-year-old — with gunshot wounds.

The 22-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene while the other victim was taken to the hospital.

He is listed in critical but stable condition.

The motive for the shooting is unknown and police said they do not have a confirmed suspect description.

Neighbors told The Bee they heard at least 12 gunshots that rang out at 2 a.m. with two different caliber firearms.

Another said he was awakened to gunfire and heard what sounded like a semi-automatic gun.

Evidence markers were placed on the roadway as detectives are investigating the city’s 28th murder. At the same time last year, there were 32.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 559-621-7000.
