Kundapur, Oct 30: The carcasses of three animals were found on the Lighthouse Beach in Gangolli village on Wednesday, October 30, in the evening, raising suspicions of illegal cow slaughter.

The animals were discovered stuffed in a gunny bag, with various parts scattered along the beach, sparking outrage among the locals, who believe that illegal cow slaughter is occurring in Gangolli.

As the carcasses were found, members of the Hindu Jagaran Vedike rushed to the scene, stating that such acts are being carried out during Hindu religious festivals to provoke the sentiments of Hindus. They have demanded that authorities identify and take strict legal action against those responsible for illegally slaughtering cows and disposing of the remains in the sea. They charged that despite their appeals, no action has been taken yet, leading to heightened anger in the community.

This is the third incident reported along the coastline of Gangolli in the past four to five months.

Gangolli police arrived at the scene and are conducting an investigation.
