Uisce Éireann crews to repair burst main in County Kildare that will cause disruptions

Repairs to a burst water main will cause supply disruptions in Carbury, Derrinturn, Killina, Allenwood, Coil Dubh, Robertstown, Prosperous and surrounding areas

Uisce Éireann is notifying customers in County Kildare that repairs to a burst water main will cause supply disruptions in Carbury, Derrinturn, Killina, Allenwood, Coil Dubh, Robertstown, Prosperous and surrounding areas.

Works are scheduled to take place until 8am on Wednesday, October 23 due to the location and complexity of the burst and works required.

Uisce Éireann recommends that you allow 3-4 hours after the estimated restoration time for your supply to fully return and it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network. 

Uisce Éireann’s Operations Lead, Ibrahim Fathalla, thanked customers for their patience while crews repair the burst as quickly as possible.

“Our team on the ground will carry out repairs this evening and tomorrow morning and will monitor the network closely. Uisce Éireann would like to thank our customers for their patience during this period of supply outage and we regret the inconvenience caused. Uisce Éireann would also like to acknowledge the efforts of our team on the ground who are working hard to carry out the repair as quickly as possible.”

Customers may experience discolouration to their supply as a result of the repairs. In the event of discolouration, running the tap for several minutes will usually restore water to a clear colour.
