Uisce Éireann opposes tree planting in new County Kildare estates
Some species can damage pipes
by Paul O'Meara · Leinster LeaderUisce Éireann is opposing the planting of trees in some new residential areas in County Kildare.
That’s according to Cllr Bill Clear, who questioned the policy.
He has asked that Kildare County Council writes to UE asking what their policy is on tree planting in new estates.
KCC official Alan Dunney said there are restrictions on where trees can be located in some cases - because of the risk that roots may cause damage to underground pipes.
