Woke up to find two men in the residence

A homeowner woke up to find two men on the premises, it was alleged at Naas District Court.

Before the court was John Kelly, 39, whose address was given as 10 Silken Gardens, Maynooth.

He was prosecuted for alleged trespass at an address at Straffan Road, Maynooth on February 29 last.

Sgt Dave Hanrahan told the court that the homeowner woke up and encountered two people.

He added that the key for a car was taken but the vehicle was not stolen.

Sgt Hanrahan said that the defendant was accompanied by another individual. He claimed that one or both threatened the occupant and ran out the front door.

Judge Desmond Zaidan remanded the defendant on continuing bail for the preparation of a book of evidence.

He adjourned the matter to November 5.
