A Clear independent launches his election campaign

by Paul O'Meara · Leinster LeaderIndependent politician Bill Clear has launched his campaign - with the help of family members and fellow Naas councillor Seamie Moore.
Naas-based Clear was previously a member of the Social Democrats.

Cllr Moore described him as a “a powerful voice for the Naas area since being elected to Kildare county Council in 2019.”
He added that Clear’s ability to connect with voters was evident when he topped the poll in the local election earlier this year “receiving nearly 2,000 first preference votes and being elected on the first count.”

Cllr Clear acknowledged the influence of former SD leader Catherine Murphy saying he was a fantastic mentor who shaped his approach to public life.
Cllr Clear said his focus will be on securing resources to address key challenges faced by the region.
“Each town in North Kildare has its own unique issues and I’m committed to leveraging my vote to bring government resources to our communities.

He said bus and rail services must be improved and derelict buildings in town centres need to be repurposed.
He will also prioritise support for children with special and additional needs.
Cllr Clear says he believes he has a proven ability to deliver for constituents.
