Amber Alert cancelled after five-day-old baby located safe

An Amber Alert that was issued by Waskesiu Lake RCMP for a five-day-old baby was cancelled a short time later, when he was found safe.

Waskesiu Lake RCMP cancelled an Amber Alert shortly after issuing it on Thursday evening.

RCMP said they found the five-day-old subject of the Amber Alert safe and that a suspect had been taken into custody.

The alert was issued shortly after 5 p.m., and initially said the baby had been abducted from a health-care facility in Montreal Lake. It was cancelled less than an hour later.
