Every Thursday, we feature an image from the StarPhoenix archives, curated by the City of Saskatoon Archives. Today, we see the Three Sisters, a landmark of three boom-era houses east of the south end of Broadway Avenue, that were built by a lumber company that was never paid for the work, from Oct. 3, 1953. The building boom that year swallowed up the areas that were first created in the 1912 boom. (City of Saskatoon Archives StarPhoenix Collection S-SP-B2181-7)
