Encampment fire beneath University Bridge under investigation

A fire at an active encampment under the University Bridge is being investigated by Saskatoon fire crews on Friday morning.

The Saskatoon fire department is investigating an encampment fire under the University Bridge.

Around 9:18 a.m. on Friday, crews responded to a reported fire at Spadina Crescent and 25th Street East, the fire department said in a news release.

“Fire crews found an individual, unharmed, who was taken into police custody,” the release noted.

The crew then put out a small fire.
