A biker died in a collision outside a Solihull school. The victim's machine collided with a van in Castle Bromwich yesterday afternoon, Thursday, November 28.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer, the West Midlands Care Team and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance to Water Orton Road, near Park Hall Academy, at 2.09pm.

Bystanders gave the man life support at the scene. Ambulance staff took over and administered advanced life support. But he died at the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to discover one patient, a man, in a critical condition. He was already receiving basic life support from bystanders before ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support.

“However, despite everyone’s best efforts it sadly became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”

Insp Andy Bridgewater, of West Midlands Police, said: "We understand people and pupils will be concerned and we can confirm we do not believe that the collision involved anyone from the school. However, there may have been a number of witnesses.

"We are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything that could help our investigation to come forward. If you have any information then please call us on 101, quoting log number 2537 28/11/24."
