'We're sorry your life was taken so soon' - tributes to 'Reuben' left outside Marston Green shops

Heartbreaking tributes have been left outside a row of shops after a teenager died in Marston Green. The 17-year-old male was stabbed to death on Station Road, around 6.20pm on Tuesday (Oct 29).

A critical care paramedic aided by a trauma doctor battled to save the youth but he was pronounced dead at the scene. A cordon remains in place around a police tent outside the vape shop today (Oct 31).

Several bouquets have been laid, with one card saying 'Reuben, we are so sorry your life was taken so soon. Our deepest condolences. Lots of love, Helena, Paul, James, Jessica and Kiera."

The identity of the stabbing victim has not been officially confirmed, but the tragedy prompted hundreds of tributes online. In the latest update this morning (Oct 31), a West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "A 17-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on police bail as the investigation continues.

"We know people will understandably be concerned and we will again be in the area conducting enquiries throughout the day. We will continue to have extra officers in the area over the coming days and we would encourage anyone with any information, or concerns, to get in touch.

"We are reviewing CCTV footage and making enquires and we are also appealing to any witnesses who haven't spoken to us yet, to come forward. People can leave information by calling us on 101 and quoting log 4239 29/10/24."
