West Midlands Police officers have issued a number of parking tickets in a Birmingham neighbourhood blighted by poor parking after telling residents earlier this month it was their "last chance." Officers from South Yardley Police hit Dora Road in Bordesley Green on Sunday morning and issued 14 tickets after numerous complaints about poor parking being a danger to local residents.

Sharing pictures from their patrol on Sunday morning through their X account @YardleyWMP, exasperated officers showed cars that had been plonked in the middle of the road, outside of the parking bays. Just last week, officers sent letters to an entire road in Bordesley Green warning them to park properly or have their car towed.

While the force declined to specify that specific road, they warned neighbourhood residents that if there was not an improvement and people continued to be put at risk that powers of seizure would be used. However just one week after that warning, dangerously parked cars continue to cause an issue in Bordesley Green.

A @YardleyWMP spokesperson said on October 20: "14x tickets issued on Dora Road on @BordesleyWMP after complaints about the dangerous and inconsiderate parking. #considerotherpeople #parkproperly."

Outlining their plans to crackdown on troublesome Bordesley Green drivers, Bordesley Police posted a picture of a Toyota Yaris straddled across the pavement blocking pedestrian access earlier this month, with a stark warning.

"A number of tickets for vehicles parked dangerously along this road. Concerns are raised continuously for this road and the number of fines now generated is staggering" said the neighbourhood team. "However this has not affected the desired change A letter has been sent to every household on the street. Detailing the dangers of parking in such positions, our powers to deal with such parking and the consequences.

"If there is not an improvement and people continue to be put at risk - powers of seizure will be used. The council are now also involved for long term measures."
