Appeal over foiled midnight burglary as police issue picture of man

The attempted raid happened just after midnight but the suspect fled before he was able to take anything - a door was damaged during the foiled burglary

A would-be burglar damaged a residential home in an attempt to make their way inside before fleeing empty-handed. The frightening incident happened just after midnight in Oldbury on August 26.

People living in a home on Moat Road reported the incident to police after damaged was caused. Now, officers have released an image of a man they would like to speak with.

In the picture, the moustached person is wearing what appears to be a high-viability jacket with its hood up. Anyone with information has been asked to come forward.

A West Midlands Police statement read: "We want to speak to this man over an attempted burglary in Oldbury. Damage was caused to a door during a failed attempt to access a home in Moat Road.

"It happened at around 12.45am on August 26. Anyone with information can contact us via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101 and quoting 20/786531/24."
