Kings Heath drink-drive arrest after man and woman hurt in crash

Police have issued an appeal for information after a crash in Kings Heath. A man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a car crashed into another vehicle and a house.

It's understood two family members, a brother and sister, were hurt inside the second car shortly before 10pm on Friday, November 8. Paramedics attending the scene in Hollybank Road found the two patients, who were treated for their injuries and taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

A third patient was assessed but discharged on scene. West Midlands Police said a man aged 25 was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after the collision with "another car and house."

He has been bailed as the enquiries continue. Police have since urged anyone with information to get in touch. An updated statement from West Midlands Police on Nov 18 read: "We arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of drink driving after a car collided with another car and a house on Hollybank Road, Birmingham, on 8 November, at around 9.50pm.

"He has since been bailed while our enquiries continue. A man, in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment and was later discharged.

"Anyone with any information should contact us via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101 quoting log number 5131 of 8 November." West Midlands Ambulance Service said it sent two ambulances, two paramedic officers and MERIT trauma doctor, with a critical care paramedic, to the scene.

A spokeswoman for the service added: "Upon arrival crews found two patients, a man and a woman, who were treated for injuries not thought to be serious and conveyed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. A third patient was assessed and discharged at the scene.”
