A dog trainer has warned that three particular breeds are not suitable for first-time owners or city dwellers. While she isn't advising people to have them either, for once, none at the XL Bully.

Dog behavioural expert at Cherry Hoggs points out that certain breeds just aren't made for people living a city life The trainer revealed on TikTok that German Shepherds, Australian Shepherds and hounds require a lot of exercise and stimulation.

They cautioned. He also pointed out that German Shepherds are often used as police dogs and if you can't provide them with a similar level of work, you shouldn't own one.

The expert also advised against hounds for novice owners. "They are high energy, they're all about the nose and need to be worked instinctively", he explained.

He added that without a large plot of land or farm, these dogs could develop behavioural problems.

Pitbulls were another breed the trainer recommended avoiding, especially as they are banned in the UK. "They're highly aggressive if they're not trained and they've got so much energy", he said.

"They can be the nicest dog in the world, but if you're not going to give the right form of discipline, exercise and pack leadership, they're going to maul you."

The video has resonated with many, garnering over 550,000 views on the social media platform.

TikTok users flocked to the comment section of the video, sparking debate with the trainer's assertions.

One user quipped: "My greyhound just sleeps all the time!"

Another chimed in: "My Australian Shepherd is the biggest cuddle bug, she snuggles more than any other dog I've ever had."
