Two arrested in early-morning child exploitation raids in Birmingham and Black Country

They were held on suspicion of making or possessing indecent images of children following separate tip-offs in Birmingham and Oldbury today, Thursday November 28.
West Midlands Police said officers acted on information provided by the community. A spokesperson said: "Today sees West Midlands Police bring a range of resources together to focus on the ongoing issue of violence against women and girls (VAWG).

"As part of this activity, in the early hours of today our online child sexual exploitation team carried out a warrant in Birmingham, supported by Digital Forensics. We also brought along our digital dog Oreo, who is specially trained to sniff out electronic devices.
"One man, 44, was arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of making or distributing indecent photographs/images of children. He remains in custody while we carry out further enquiries.
"Officers in Oldbury also arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of possessing indecent images of children after being provided with information by the community. He also remains in custody as we look to carry out further enquiries."
