A CCTV appeal has been launched after an incident at a Midlands railway station where a victim filmed men ‘goading’ him to fight before he was set upon by a group, it was claimed. The incident took place at Wellington Railway Station, on the Birmingham to Shrewsbury route on Saturday, June 29.

A passenger was being verbally abused and pushed around 5pm after reporting he accidentally knocked into two men. The two men were joined by a third and were ‘goading’ the other man to fight them, it was claimed.

They asked him to go to a nearby church, but the victim began recording those challenging him on his phone, it was claimed.

But then five men allegedly attacked the victim on the platform, repeatedly punching and kicking him. He suffered a broken nose, two black eyes and concussion.
