Girl, 16, 'sexually assaulted' on Birmingham bus as CCTV appeal launched

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted on a Birmingham bus, police have said. An investigation has been launched following the reported incident in the city centre.

While the exact bus has not been revealed, the reported attack was said to have taken place near the busy Priory Queensway bus interchange around 8pm on September 14. West Midlands Police launched a CCTV appeal on Sunday, October 27, and released an image of a person they would like to speak with.

In the picture, a man with a long Afro hair can be seen wearing a grey jacket and what appears to be a backpack. Officers urged anybody with information to get in touch.

The appeal read: "We want to speak to this man after a 16-year-old girl was sexually assaulted on a bus in Birmingham. It happened near the Priory Queensway at just after 8pm on September 14.
