Lloyds customers beg bank for help and ask 'is this legitimate'
by James Rodger, https://www.facebook.com/jamesrodgerjournalist · Birmingham LiveLloyds has issued a response to customers over ‘errors’ on a key form after a customer asked: ‘is this legitimate?’ The high street bank spoke out on Twitter, now X, after a bank account holder got in touch via the social networking platform.
"hello, I'm just about to change my DD details for my mortgage, is this a legitimate page with Lloyds? I'm only asking as the phone number box only allows 10 digits maximum and there is a spelling mistake at the bottom," the customer wrote.
Lloyds said: "Hi, are you logged in on the Lloyds bank website? Here is the link" The customer said: "Hi Kerri, yep, it's the Lloyds site, I'll complete the form despite the errors on the page :-)" Lloyds said: "We do apologise for the errors, and will ensure this is fed back. ^Delina."

The customer shared a screengrab of a form which included a space for 'contact number' which had a 10-digit number inputted. The form also had a button to click to confirm a statement, that seemingly had a grammatical error. The statement read: "I confirm that i named on the mortgage and give you permission to change the Direct Debit date as instructed in this form."
On its website, Lloyds states: "If you would like to change the date you pay your mortgage, simply complete the below form and you'll receive confirmation of your new payment date within 5 working days by post. Your chosen payment date needs to be between the 1st and 28th of the month.
If we have already requested your payment at the time of completing this form, the change will take place from the following month. Direct Debit payments are requested 5 days before the due date e.g. If you pay your mortgage on the 20th of the month, we would request the funds on the 15th.
"Depending on your current and new payment dates, you could make 2 payments in a short period of time. Your monthly payment amount may rise or fall after you change the date we collect the money from you.
"We can only deliver to the correspondence address we currently hold on our system."
