UK soap star arrested on suspicion of child sex offences against five teen boys in 1990s

A well-known soap actor has been arrested on suspicion of child sex offences, following allegations that he abused five teenage boys.

The actor's home was searched by police this month in connection with historic paedophile allegations dating back to the 1990s, a period when he starred in popular shows alongside some of the UK's most famous actors.

His identity has not been revealed. After several hours in custody, the actor was released on bail, leaving his family, including his partner, reeling from the shocking accusations, which he denies.

Despite the serious nature of the allegations, the actor, known for his significant roles on television, continues to maintain his innocence and was released on bail after several hours in detention. A police spokesperson told The Sun: "Officers investigating allegations relating to the 1990s detained a man."

"He was arrested on suspicion of several sexual offences relating to five men who were teenage boys at the time of the alleged offending. He has been conditionally bailed while enquiries continue."

During the search of his home, it is reported that authorities confiscated computers and documents before arresting him on suspicion of sex crimes against the five teens.

The investigation is now focused on gathering evidence linked to the alleged abuse of five victims by the unnamed soap star, according to a report in the Mirror.
