Residents rush to help during Birmingham house fire drama

Residents reportedly ran to help during a house fire in Birmingham. A blaze swept through the property, on the junction of St Michael's Hill and South Road in Soho, at around 7pm yesterday, Monday, November 18.

A dozen firefighters attended and extinguished the flames. Everyone was said to have escaped the corner property safely and no injuries were reported.

West Midlands Fire Service fire control said: "Three fire engines attended. Two from Handsworth and one from Ladywood.

"We were called to reports of a house fire. There were no reported casualties." Images taken from the scene showed cordons set up by the fire service which were later taken down.
