Man stabbed in Lozells as community meeting called to discuss explosion in violence

Police are appealing for information after a man was stabbed in Lozells. The emergency services were called to Lozells Road, on Sunday evening, where they found the victim.

Fortunately his injuries were not said to be life threatening and he was taken to hospital. A cordon was put in place near the New Testament Church Of God, and later removed.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesman from West Midlands Police said: "We are investigating after a man received a stab wound following an incident in Lozells Road, Birmingham, yesterday (Sunday). A man in his 20s was taken to hospital with injuries thankfully not believed to be life threatening.

"We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or may have dash cam or doorbell footage.

This incident comes exactly a week after a man was injured in a shooting in a separate incident on Villa Road. Community activist Bishop Desmond Jaddoo has called a meeting which will be held at the Lozells Recreation Group, on Graham Street, off Anglesey Street, from 7pm to 8.30pm on Thursday (Nov 21) to discuss increasing knife and gun crime in the area.
